Our Client is an investment manager dedicated to capitalizing on investment opportunities across US and international mortality linked investment markets.

We are seeking a senior data analyst with experience in insurance or financial markets.

The ideal candidate is a critical thinker, is constantly thinking of ways to improve processes to increase efficiencies across the company and holds a high degree of personal responsibility and ownership for everything that they do.

This position represents an opportunity to join a new, growing company, and a small team in building and shaping the company from the ground up.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Pricing and valuation analysis around current and new policies, products and markets;

  • Performing data mining and actual to expected analysis to assess accuracy of firm level assumptions around mortality, persistency, and anti-selection;

  • Management and automation of internal processes to maximize portfolio alpha through operational efficiencies;

  • Management of internal relational database using Microsoft SQL Server;

  • Reporting of Life Settlement Portfolio performance for institutional investors;

  • Development and maintenance of excel based pricing models for valuing and assessing risks associated with Life Settlements and other mortality linked assets;

  • Developing asset investment strategies and bid proposals to maximize competitiveness in acquiring new assets;

  • Support diligence requirements on transaction opportunities


Job Qualifications and Requirements:


  1. 5+ Years of related financial sector work experience (in a similar role and work environment).

  2. Bachelor’s Degree in mathematics, finance, actuarial science or related field.

  3. Proven commercial acumen.

  4. Ability to process and synthesize data to present conclusions in a clear and concise manner.

  5. Comfort working ‘without a handbook’

  6. Ability to multi-task and operate within tight timelines.

  7. Strong written communication skills for both internal communication of proposals and business decision-making more generally, and for interactions with external counterparties.

  8. Excellent Microsoft Excel skills

  9. Working knowledge of SQL database querying and data management
